Evaluation of the GIZ Global Project on the Cultural and Creative Industries

TFCC conducted an evaluation of an extensive global Cultural and Creative Industries Programme by Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut. The programme's overall objective was to improve employment and income opportunities for creative professionals, especially for women and young people. 
The programme was implemented in six selected partner countries in Sub-Sahara Africa (Kenya, Senegal, South Africa) and the MENA region (Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq). Through collaboration with experts in Germany and each focus country, TFCC led on deep-dive evaluation in Jordan (with a focus on design and fashion) and Lebanon (focusing on design, gaming, music and fashion). This included an intensive programme of consultations held in October 2023, where TFCC worked closely with partners in Lebanon and Jordan to build an understanding of the role and impact of this programme.
