EU-GCC Dialogue on Economic Diversification: Culture and the Creative Industries in the Gulf Region

The EU-GCC Dialogue on Economic Diversification project has an overall objective to contribute to a stronger EU-GCC relationship by supporting the GCC countries’ ongoing process of economic diversification, away from hydrocarbon dependent sectors. Our research provided an overview of the in the cultural and creative industries in four countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Oman) including sector performance and challenges, policies and regulatory frameworks. We also identified areas where EU can assist the selected four GCC countries in achieving their national development goals related to Cultural and Creative industries.
