Economic Assessment of Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago

This major study represented the first attempt to develop an economic impact baseline for the Trinidad Carnival – the largest Carnival in the Caribbean. The TFCC team, working with local associates, developed an economic impact framework and toolkit, which were utilised to survey a range of economic impacts across the Carnival’s value chain. This exercise will be built upon for future Carnivals, enabling the effective measurement of the Carnival economy – alongside other key outcome areas, not least the event’s cultural and social impact.
