Arts and cultural heritage contribution to social cohesion

Arts and cultural heritage contribution to social cohesion

The British Council is working across the world to develop international cultural relations as part of a wider approach to supporting social cohesion as key to peace-building. This impact study explored the ways the British Council, working in a multi-agency context, unlocks the potential of arts and cultural heritage to enhance social cohesion by building trust and shared approaches to community and place. In turn, the study analysed and measured the ways these activities support peace-building, with a focus on fragile contexts, including those in a conflict or post-conflict reality.
